# deleteScope()

Deletes the given machine scope, removing access from one machine to another.

Returns the deleted [`MachineScope`](https://clerk.com/docs/reference/backend/types/backend-machine-scope.md) object.

```typescript
function deleteScope(machineId: string, otherMachineId: string): Promise<MachineScope>
```

## Parameters

| Parameter        | Type     | Description                                                                    |
| ---------------- | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `machineId`      | `string` | The ID of the machine that has access to the target machine.                   |
| `otherMachineId` | `string` | The ID of the machine that will no longer be accessible by the source machine. |
